October 15, 2014 - Congestion Surcharge Is In Effect

Due to current excessive delay issues at several US Ports, a congestion surcharge is in effect to offset costs and poor productivity. Specific surcharges are in place for all ports in CA as well as the port of Norfolk. Please contact the Terminal Location that is currently handling your business to verify that you are up to date on these additional charges.

May 1, 2014 - Los Angeles Roadrunner Intermodal Services Relocating to Larger Facility in Inland Empire

Roadrunner Intermodal Services Los Angeles location has called Fontana, CA home since March of 2009.  We have now secured a larger facility, also located in the "inland empire" in Fontana, CA.  This location will serve as one of two locations servicing Southern California, in addition to our Long Beach location primarily servicing the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.  The new location will be fully lit and secure with a full 5 acre lot.


April 1, 2014 - Roadrunner Intermodal Staying Ahead of the Curve

Roadrunner Intermodal is pleased to confirm our full implementation of electronic driver logs.  The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has announced that the next rule announced will require the use of electronic logging (E-Logs) for all drivers that are required to keep records of duty status.  While the effective date is still unknown, the requirement date is estimated to land in the latter half of 2016.


August 15, 2013 Roadrunner Transportation Systems Announces Acquisition of Southeast Drayage Division of Transport America

Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. (NYSE: RRTS) announced today that it has acquired certain of the assets of the Southeast drayage division of Transport Corporation of America, Inc., a provider of intermodal transportation and related services in the Southeast. TA Drayage primarily transports imports and exports for steamship lines and intermodal marketing companies from the ports of Charleston, South Carolina, Norfolk, Virginia and Savannah, Georgia. TA Drayage also services the rail ramps of Atlanta, Georgia, Memphis, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama. Ben Kirkland, President of Roadrunner Intermodal Services ("RRIS"), said, "The TA Drayage acquisition enhances the scale and density of our intermodal services in the Southeast, complementing our asset-light service offering with the addition of over 100 independent contractors. We will absorb the TA Drayage operations into our existing Southeast RRIS locations, and we look forward to supporting and expanding TA Drayage’s strong customer relationships and service record as we pursue continued growth in the business."
