RRTS Upgrades Web site and Network

RRTS Information Technology Department Upgrades Web site and Network for Customers Benefit

Roadrunner Transportation Services (RRTS) has recently updated the company Web site (http://www.rrts.com) to make the computer process easier and less time-consuming for customers.  The navigation has been redesigned to provide for quicker searching capabilities and informational consistency.  Also, items used the most by customers have been added to the “Action” bar, which can be found on almost every page of the site.  New and improved Web-based benefits can be experienced whether the user wants to track shipments, get rate quotes, determine transit time, create Bills of Ladings, or even schedule a pickup.

Users requested improvements in our reporting capabilities and Roadrunner responded with various changes.  The company’s Information Technology professionals implemented a new reporting platform that is not only more customer-friendly, but is also much more powerful.  Not only is paging through the results easier, but we have programmed the ability to export the reports to a multitude of different file formats, including PDF, Excel, and CSV files.

Additional changes will occur in the near future such as reports emailed to customers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.  The RRTS experts are also busy updating the Bill of Lading functionality as well.  Future updates to the Web site will be communicated very soon.

Another recent major initiative coordinated by the RRTS IT Department’s was to make the computer systems more reliable and redundant as part of the disaster recovery plan.  Furthermore, the company’s system software is constantly being modified to allow for changes coinciding with Roadrunner Transportation Services business decisions to include support for the LTL, Truckload and Brokerage Divisions.  The software supports pro entry, manifesting, payables, receivables, general ledger, EDI processing, sales reporting, and management reporting.

If you experience any problems or have any questions regarding the new Web site functionality, please contact the RRTS help desk representatives via email at helpdesk@rrts.com.
